INNOVATORS, ENTREPRENUERS URGED TO PARTICIPATE AT THIS YEAR’S TRADE FAIR

The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) has underlined the need for innovators and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the upcoming Malawi international trade fair to exhibit their products to potential buyers.

MCCCI has also urged youthful entrepreneurs to use the trade fair to build strategic and sustainable trade investment and partnerships.

The organisation’s spokesperson Orama Chiphwanya has made the appeal as from the 23rd to 29th May 2024, Malawi is set to host the 34th Malawi International Trade Fair at the Trade Fair grounds in Blantyre.

The fair, which will be held under the theme “Boosting Malawi’s export capacity through enhanced production”, is being touted as the biggest trade exhibition event in Malawi.

“As MCCCI, we believe this is an opportunity for innovators and entrepreneurs mainly the youth to arrange informal meetings with potential partners and clients,” said Chiphwanya.

She has also urged entreprenuers to use the opportunity to foster collaboration and explore mutually beneficial opportunities.

“We also would like exhibitors to get insights into the local and international competitive landscape and make informed business strategies based on market trends,” added Chiphwanya.

Meanwhile, small-scale and medium business operators of Malawi chairperson, Tenson Mulimbula  has welcomed the fair, adding that business operators from Malawi are ready to exhibit their products at the event.

Several international companies from Zimbabwe and Zambia have also shown interest to exhibit their products at the event.
