In the Northern Region of Malawi, an entrepreneur has made a name for himself in the quail farming industry.
Andrew Chalemba, a quail farmer and incubator maker, has achieved remarkable success in just over a year, with his business growing exponentially and his products in high demand.
Based in Mzuzu, Chalemba’s quail farm has expanded rapidly since its inception last year. What started as a small venture has now grown to over 800 quails, with Chalemba supplying his products to customers across the Northern Region.
“What has led me to be here is passion and support from my family members despite that we all have different jobs but we spare our time to take care of our business.
“I want to this bussiness reaching far beyond this. My ultimate dream is to expand reach and supply quails countrywide,” explained Chalemba.
Chalemba, who apart from doing farming, also make and repair incubators from scratch. Using his skills and knowledge, he designs and builds incubators that meet the specific needs of his farm and his clients.
This unique skill has enabled him to provide high-quality incubators to other farmers, further establishing his reputation as a leader in the industry.
His business is a family affair, with his loved ones playing an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the farm. Together, they work tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the business is running smoothly, from feeding and caring for the quails to supplying products to customers.
“In addition to my business ventures, I also share my knowledge with others. I regularly teaches people about quail farming, providing valuable insights and tips to those interested in starting their own quail farms,” added Chalemba.
