The Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) has distributed assorted food and non food items worth K100 million to one thousand households who were affected recently by tropical cyclone Jude in the Lakeshore district of Mangochi.
Spokesperson for FGRF, Ibrahim Omar said the organization made the distribution on Sunday in the district.
He told ProjectM that FGRF distributed relief items such as maize flour, soya pieces, sugar, salt and soap just to name but afew.
Omar also said that his organization decided to come to Mangochi in order to reach out to the affected people.
According to the spokesperson the organization intends to construct school in the area for the children to access education within their community.
A beneficiary Daniel Aliseni from Chipoka village in the area of Senior Chief Mponda in the district thanked the FGRF for coming to the rescue.
He said people have lost their properties and the arrival of the organization has bailed them out.
The damage has been significant, and it will take a while to recover from these losses,” he noted.
Mangochi’s Lakeshore district has been hit by Tropical Cyclone Jude, leaving 1,019 households and 4,883 individuals affected.
