The Evangelical Association of Malawi (EAM) says it is committed in empowering farmers in the Shire Valley district of Chikwawa economically through the goat pass-on program.
Project Officer for EAM Chikondi Thyoka said his organisation reaching out to 87 farmers.
He said through the pass-on program will see the farmers will be passing each other goats.
Thyoka told ProjectM that the first beneficiaries are going to rear the goats and once they give birth they will be passed to the secondary beneficiaries.
“The first farmers are going to give to the other farmers after the goats have given birth,” explained the officer.
One of the beneficiaries Tsalauzione Dolizhi said she is very grateful that she is one of the first beneficiaries.
She promised to keep the goats carefully until they give birth so that she can be in position to pass them to the second farmer.
“The goats will be mine after passing to them to the next beneficiary,” she said.
The farmer has since hailed EAM for bailing out from poverty by giving them goats which are going to revamp their livelihoods.
