At least 25 female entrepreneurs from Dedza District have on Thursday undergone a one-day training focusing on how they can market their products, plan their business and bookkeeping.
The training was organised by the COMESA Federation For National Association of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi chapter.
In an interview with ProjectM, COMFWB national chairperson Selina Mwenelupembe said the training was also part of the federation’s ongoing advocacy project initiative being funded by Graca Machel Trust.
She said, among others, participants at the training have been imparted with skills to grow and succeed in their businesses.
“These trainings are mainly focusing on marketing, bookkeeping and business planning and have involved key female entrepreneurs from Dedza district,” said Mwenelupembe.
The training was conducted in partnership with the Dedza district council, which collaborated closely with trade and gender departments.
“This training is forming a crucial part of our year-long 32,000 dollar-business advocacy initiative funded by Graca Machel Trust,” said Mwenelupembe.
Meanwhile, COMFWB has indicated that plans are underway to bring the initiative to female entrepreneurs from the Northern Region of the country where dozens of entrepreneurs have also been earmarked for training.
“We want to see our female entrepreneurs thriving and competing on the global scale,” she added.
One of the participants, Chicco Ngaunje commended the organization for organizing the training, saying she has gained valuable expertise.
I never thought about it this way before. Thanks for opening my eyes.
I enjoyed reading this. It’s clear and well-written.
