COFO Treats Chikwawa Children To Special Celebration

As one way of giving back to the community, Chikwawa-based organisation, Community Focus (COFO) brought together over 100 children from Mantchombe primary school to celebrate Christmas.

COFO Executive Director Joshua Malunga said the event also provided an opportunity for the organization to remind the children of the importance of education and the benefits of staying in school.

As part of the celebrations, the learners were treated to a special meal, which was a welcome treat for many of them.

“Honestly, I am thrilled to see the children’s faces beaming up with delight,” Malunga said.

He said the event was not just about having fun, saying it also had a deeper purpose.

“We wanted to use the event to encourage them to continue working hard and pursuing their dreams,” said Malunga.

During the event, several speakers took turn to counsel the learners on the importance of making good choices and staying on the right path.

One of the learners, Raymond James Banda thanked COFO for organizing the event, saying it was a Christmas celebration that he will never forget.

“I’ve been inspired to work hard in school and pursue my dreams in the years to come,” said Raymond.

On the 25th of December every year, Christians across the globe celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

The day is marked by celebrations and charity events.
