Government has said the burial of the late Vice-President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima is scheduled for Monday, 17 June at his home village in Nsipe, Ntcheu.
Minister of Information and Digitalisation Honourable Moses Nkukuyu said this during a press briefing in Lilongwe.
According to Kunkuyu, the body will be collected from the mortuary on Friday and then taken to St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish in Area 18 in Lilongwe for a requiem mass.
The body will be taken to the Vice-President’s residence in Area 12 followed by a public viewing on Sunday at Civo Stadium after which the body will be taken to Ntcheu for burial.
He added that President Chakwera has directed that the funeral of former First Lady Madame Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri will be held with full military honours on Friday at her home village in Balaka while pilot Major Flora Selemeni will take place on Thursday in Luchenza.
Kunkuyu further disclosed that autopsies will also be carried out by private practitioners with government financial support.
