Have you ever thought of any machine that suits best to your needs or business? Well, not only is Paul Kachitsa an innovator but also an engineer who can design and make any manufacturing machine that a person wishes to have.
Paul Chikopa tells ProjectM that, he discovered his interest of inventing industrial manufacturing machines at a tender age and despite having such innovation skills, he aimed high at school and made it to the corridors of the Malawi Polytechnic (MUBAS) where he graduated in the field of mechanical engineering in 2018.
Chikopa says after graduating from the University of Malawi, he secured a job at Ministry of Labor but was quick to highlight that his passion for innovation is always at greater heights and becomes part of his everyday life.
“To any person having innovation skills, I urge you to concentrate on school as well because school shapes and helps modifying the reasoning ability. I discovered that I was good at innovating machines and this strengthened my passion of working hard at school and at the end of it, I enrolled for a course of Mechanical Engineering which specializes in factory machinery.” Said Chikopa.
Chikopa challenges that he can make any type of factory machinery according to the needs of a person using his own innovative skills.
He said: “I have made various factory machineries ranging from, freezes freezing machines, maize shelling machines, juice extracting equipment and Cement molding machines among others. Anyone who wants having a machine that best corresponds to their needs or business, I challenge you that I can make it within a specific period.”
According to Chikopa, who currently operates his workshop with two permanent staff members and some volunteers , his vison is to have a company that will be specializing in making factory machinery which aligns with the Malawi Vision 2063 .
He says, currently, the country has to take heed on producing its own materials that can be exported internationally, thereby competing on international markets.
