The Effie Namwali Foundation (ENF) has planted 125 trees at January primary and secondary school in January village, Traditional Authority (T\A) January in Thyolo district.
According to Henry Chipiku, programs director for ENF, “The tree planting exercise is one of the initiatives that has been put in place in order to help in improving the environment”.
Chipiku also urged the students and teachers to work hand in hand in taking care of trees.
Head teacher for January primary school, Hastings Chole said that, the trees will help in restoring nature especially at January primary and secondary school where they have students from different villages.
He also added that the trees will help in reducing stress of modern life as well as reduce the greenhouse effect.
On his part, Victor White, head teacher for January secondary school said that, it is everyone’s responsibility to take care of trees as well as plant trees in their respective homes to help in improving nature.
One of the wildlife student from January secondary school Twalike Buda said that, the trees will help in improving the school’s environment and also help in improving physical and mental health.
Tree planting exercise is an incredible way for the young leader’s to connect with nature while helping the country in restoring nature.
