Olipher Mwagomba decided to venture into food processing after she realized that one cannot consume the same type of food daily but needs a change in variety.
Food processing is the action of performing a series of mechanical or chemical operations on food in order to change or preserve it for example, making mango juice from mangoes.
Mwagomba said that lack of equipment’s to make large scale production is one of the challenges that she is facing and currently she makes peanut butter using locally available resources.
Mwagomba runs a home bakery that goes by the name Opher Bakery where she bakes cakes, sells samoosa, juices as well as peanut butter.
Olipher Mwagomba hails from Chirimba, Blantyre and was trained by the MUBAS Incubation Center in food processing.
