Bangwe All Stars FC have announced a landmark K80 million sponsorship deal with AYH Motors and Logistics.
The partnership was unveiled during a colourful ceremony in Blantyre, just before the kickoff of the inaugural NBS Bank National Division League (NDL).
The one-year partnership marks a new chapter for the Blantyre-based football club, which had previously faced uncertainty following a financial crisis that almost led to its collapse.
Speaking during the unveiling, AYH Motors managing director Imran Master, who now takes over as the club president from Mphatso Jika.
“I know many people are surprised that someone of Indian descent is leading Bangwe All Stars, but my message is simple, let’s have faith. This team has potential and together we can take it forward,” said Master.
As part of the new leadership structure, Shamim Osman, daughter of Blantyre City Deputy Mayor and Ntopwa FC owner Isaac Jomo Osman, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Her appointment signifies a growing trend of young and dynamic professionals taking key roles in sports administration.
Isaac Jomo Osman, who has been instrumental behind the scenes, expressed relief and optimism about the club’s future.
“When I heard about the possible demise of Bangwe All Stars, I was devastated. That’s why we moved quickly to secure this partnership with AYH Motors. I believe this is the beginning of something great,” he said.
Osman also promised fans that under the new leadership and sponsorship will help Bangwe All Stars to return to Malawi’s top-flight league, Super League.
