Malawi’s Agriculture Minister, Samu Kawale, has unveiled an innovative Nano Liquid Urea Fertiliser, poised to revolutionise modern farming.
He said: “This innovative solution, developed by the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative and the Nano Biotechnology Research Centre, aims to enhance agricultural productivity and commercialisation.
“The Nano Liquid Urea Fertilizer is a game-changer for sustainable and innovative farming practices.
“It will play a significant role in improving farming activities, enhancing productivity, and ensuring abundant yields for various crops.”
One of the benefits of this new fertilizlser is its potential to minimise the need for granular Urea by up to 50%.
This is a significant step towards achieving food security and promoting environmentally friendly farming practices.
Dr. Paul Kamlongera, Board Chairperson of the Small Holder Farmers Revolving Fund of Malawi, highlighted the fertiliser’s benefits for horticultural plants.
“This Nano fertiliser is essential for strong growth and yields, and it’s 10% cheaper than other types of fertilizers.”
Bhupender Singh from Agventure said that the Agricultural mechanization initiative will optimize farming practices, helping local farmers achieve maximum potential yields while ensuring food security.
With over 11,000 locations across Africa and Europe, testing the Nano Liquid Urea Fertilizer, Malawi is poised to reap the benefits of this innovative solution.
