Over 50 learners from Dzenza primary school in Area 25, Lilongwe have received a morale boost after ProjectM handed them basic supplies vital for their studies.
The learners have been given learning materials such as note books, ball pens, and assorted groceries to keep them refreshed during the upcoming summer season.
ProjectM team leader, Lydia Banda said the company made the donation as part of celebrating three years of the company’s existence.
“As ProjectM, we wanted to celebrate our anniversary by among others, changing lives in a real way through this donation,” Banda said.
She added that the gesture is part of ProjectM’s wider effort to safeguard the wellbeing of at-risk children.
“When we take care of vulnerable children today, we’re investing in a better tomorrow for them,” said Banda.
In his remarks, Dzenza primary school headteacher Austin Chiphwanya said the donation will go a long way towards improving grades for the beneficiaries.
“They might look like small things, but sometimes small things remove big barriers,” Chiphwanya said.
One of the recipients, Lemekezani Isaac, a Standard 8 learner expressed gratitude, noting the items will help him focus better in class.
“For me, this is like hope delivered because these supplies will help us at home and here at school,” Prince said.
