Effie Namwali Foundation Supports 21 Re-admitted Learners with School Supplies in Thyolo

The Effie Namwali Foundation on Saturday distributed school supplies to 21 re-admitted learners in Goliati Constituency, Thyolo District, in a bid to support vulnerable children in their pursuit of education.

The donation exercise took place at January Primary School and benefited Standard 8, Form 2, and Form 4 learners who have returned to school after previously dropping out.

Speaking during the event, Effie Namwali Foundation Coordinator Josophine Chikoti said the initiative is part of the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that disadvantaged learners have access to the resources they need to succeed in school.

“We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to learn and achieve their dreams. Through this support, we want to encourage these learners to remain in school and focus on their education without worrying about basic learning materials,” said Chikoti.

One of the beneficiaries, Frola Mgunda, thanked the Foundation for the donation, saying the supplies will help learners prepare for their examinations.

“These items will help us write our examinations easily and concentrate on our studies. I am very happy to be back in school,” she said.

Addressing the learners, Matron Leah urged them to take advantage of the second chance they have been given.

“You have been given a second chance at education. Use these items well, work hard in class and prove that you can succeed. Your future is in your hands, and we believe in you,” she said.

Leah also commended Chipiku for his continued encouragement and guidance to learners, which has helped motivate them to work hard in class.

The Foundation reiterated its commitment to promoting access to education for disadvantaged children, particularly those returning to school after dropping out.

Community members also expressed appreciation to the Effie Namwali Foundation for introducing the programme in Goliati Constituency, describing it as an important step towards improving educational opportunities and creating a better future for children in the area.
