KBG To Star At African Social Media Influencers

Malawian urban star Kelvin Before Gumbi, widely known as KBG, is gearing up to represent the country at the first-ever African Social Media Influencers Summit to be held from 7–8 May 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

KBG says he intends to use the platform to elevate Malawi’s creative industry by promoting local content creators to a wider African audience.

“This opportunity comes at the right time for me it’s not just about performing, but about being a voice for those working behind the scenes and pushing Malawian creators onto the global stage.”

He also highlighted his mission to inspire a shift from passive content consumption to active creation, while mentoring upcoming talents and gaining insight into how other African countries are using digital policies to protect creators.

Upon his return, KBG plans to share the knowledge and experiences gained, saying he hopes to open doors for Malawian creators aiming to break into global markets.

The summit will also bring together notable African influencers such as Nyako Nyako, Ralph De Fellow and Nelly Big Boy, offering a valuable networking and learning platform.

Meanwhile, Ireland-based Malawian content creator Vida Brown has congratulated KBG, encouraging him to make the most of the opportunity.

The two-day gathering will host around 200 creators from across the continent at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum under the theme “Influence for a Better Africa.”
