Organisation Donates Learning Materials In Chikwawa

As one way of uplifting education standards, a Chikwawa-based organisation, Community Focus (COFO) has donated essential learning materials to 2,000 learners from Mantchombe Primary School in the district.

The donation was made under a special initiative called “Njira Project” which is being championed by COFO with an aim of enhancing quality education.

The organisation’s Executive Director Joshua Malunga has told ProjectM in an interview that through the initiative, the organisation aims to support vulnerable children who are currently struggling academically.

“This initiative is vital because it is targeting learners who are struggling academically by providing them with the necessary support to thrive in school,” he said.

Among others, the organisation has donated materials such as school uniforms, school shoes, books, soap and writing pads, just to mention a few.

“Through this, we hope to bridge the gap which is there between learners from well-to-do families and others,” said Malunga.

He said the organisation would continue assisting the learners until their academic performance improve.

“Through the Njira Project, we want to create a generation full of potential and academic prowess,” he added.

One of the beneficiaries, Zuwere Petro, who is in Standard 7 commended COFO, saying the donation will help her concentrate in class.

“I am really thrilled with this donation because it will help me to work hard since I now have necessary materials to do well in class,” said Zuwere.
