Malawian Professor of English based in Boston US Caroline Kautsire won Distinguished Achievement and Special Honours (DASH) award for her role in a cast for William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth.
Kautsire, who is author and regularly posts on her Facebook Page, featured as a witch for Mass Arts Centre to win one of the awards offered by Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatres.
Another witch in the cast Barbara Schapiro also won the a similar award for the role.
Reads a post on Kautsire’s Facebook Page: “I’m absolutely over the moon to share that I won my first Dash Award. My heart is full of gratitude for the incredible opportunity to step into the world of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
“Bringing this play to life alongside such a talented and dedicated cast and crew, was nothing short of magical. Every rehearsal, every late night, every moment of digging deep into this story—it all led to this.
“This award is more than just a win, it’s a powerful nod to the passion, grit and love we poured into this production. Thank you everyone who believed in us and came out to witness our journey through ambition, fate and redemption. Here’s to more stories, more stages and more moments that take our breath away.”
Her award was welcomed with friends, family and followers congratulating her.
