A Lilongwe-based entrepreneur, Hastings Mwausegha is forging his own path to success after launching a welding and metal fabrication business.
Mwausegha, 28, is the founder and manager of Area 22-based company called Kuzama Dealers which specialises in welding, metal fabrication and painting works.
He said he decided to venture into entrepreneurship after failing to find meaningful employment opportunities.
“I spent years searching for a job opportunity, but unfortunately I couldn’t find any,” he said.
Together with his fellow youths under Chilungamo Youth Club, Mwausegha then decided to undergo a business mentorship programme implemented by a Lilongwe based organisation Youth Action for Success and Development (YASD) in 2023.
Armed with skills and business management knowledge, Mwausegha established Kuzama Dealers, a business that has thrived within months of its establishment.
“Our company has now thrived and become specialits in all kind of welding and fabrication, supplying products in Lilongwe and other districts across Malawi,” he said.
Through Kuzama Dealers, Mwausegha has managed to employ 4 people, contributing to the country’s economic growth in the process.
“My wish is to see the company thrive even more and employ more people,” he added.
YASD Executive Director, Edward Chidombe Msiska has hailed Mwausegha, calling him an exceptional talent.
“As YASD, we are always happy to see youths we trainined implementing what they were taught on the ground,” said Msiska.
