The National Youth Council Of Malawi (NYCOM) says this year’s National Youth Summit will take place from the 2 to 4 July at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
NYCOM says this year’s summit will be held under the theme “Harnessing Youth Innovation for Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation Towards Malawi 2063.”
The organisation’s Executive Director Rex Chapota has indicated that this year’s event will draw youth leaders, policy makers and stakeholders from across Malawi to drive conversations and actions that align with the aspirations of Malawi 2063.
“We are specifically looking for youths who are ready to discuss issues that are capable of changing Malawi and we know that this summit will provide a good platform for that,” he said.
Chapota said through the summit, NYCOM hopes to amplify youth voices and build a prosperous Malawi.
“There are a lot of youths out there who are performing wonders, this is the time for them to come forward,” said Chapota.
He said the organisers are also specifically looking for youthful innovators, entrepreneurs, students and stakeholders that are supporting various youth programmes.
“We want to recognise outstanding youthful innovators, entrepreneurs, those into arts and technology,” he added.
This year’s summit will be officially opened by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, who will also serve as the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, NYCOM has implored those hoping to attend the summit to submit applications via a link available on the organisation’s website and social media platforms.
