Young Malawian Entrepreneur Set For Med-Tech Expo

A 24-year-old entrepreneur from Zomba, Hudson Mwangalika Jr, has been selected to attend the Med-Tech Innovation Expo 2025, scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland, later this year.

Mwangalika, who is the founder of HB Space TL, a startup company that designs and builds various gadgets, expressed his excitement at being chosen for the expo.

“I am excited to have been selected for this prestigious event. It’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my work and learn from other innovators in the field,” he said.

Mwangalika’s selection follows his innovation on obstacle avoidance gadget for the visually impaired.

His device, aims at solving the problems faced by the visually impaired, making it an ideal fit for the Med-Tech Innovation Expo.

The expo, which brings together medical device innovators from around the world, is focused on showcasing the latest innovations in medical technology.

Mwangalika’s gadget, with its unique concept and solution to a pressing problem, caught the attention of the expo organisers.

However, Mwangalika faces a financial hurdle to attend the expo, with the total cost of attendance, including airfare, food, and accommodation, amounting to K7 million.

Despite the promise of reimbursement after the summit, Mwangalika is seeking support from well-wishers to help cover these expenses.
