Local innovator cum-entreprenuer, Aaron Moyo has launched a portable device called “Oxygen Analyser System”.
Moyo is designing and developing the system locally through his company called Grassroots Health Tech.
Oxygen Analyser System is an important device designed for use with oxygen concentrators.
Its primary function is to ensure that patients receiving supplemental oxygen therapy receive a safe and consistent supply of oxygen.
Moyo’s journey to the success began in August 2024 when he started designing and developing the system’s prototype.
“And thats when I started assembling electronic parts, including microcontrollers, amplifiers and signal processing circuits,” said Moyo.
The innovator also said the system features sensing elements such as zirconium oxide sensors also known as electrochemical sensors.
According to Moyo, producing the system locally will reduce the challenges the country’s health sector faces when importing the system from outside the country.
“This innovation is expected to reduce import costs, cut import delays and most importantly save lives once supply in local health facilities commence,” said Moyo.
Health rights activist Gregorio Chapita has hailed Moyo’s innovation, calling it a “timely achievement”.
“The impact of Moyo’s innovation will obviously be felt across the country and he deserves a special recognition,” said Chapita.
