Ministry Empowers Youth with Skills

Time of Repenting and Deliverance Ministry (TIRDEM) says it is committed to equipping young people with skill training programmes in entrepreneurship and vocational skills for their economic independence.

Pastor Albert Mpende of TIRDEM said this during the graduation ceremony of 10 students who have completed their tailoring programme at the school at Domasi Trading Centre in Chikwawa District.

Mpende said his ministry has provided tools on a loan basis to the graduates, including user-friendly sewing machines and other equipment in line with the training programme with industry needs.

He emphasised that focusing on specialised skills will make the ministry more efficient and effective in delivering high-quality education and training.

“By doing so, we aim to produce a more skilled and competent workforce,” he said.

He advised the beneficiaries to use of the knowledge and tools provided and also assured the public that his ministry will regularly monitor the progress of the trainees to ensure their long-term of success.

Merifa Mkwazi, a beneficiary of the initiative, expressed gratitude for the donation, stressing the importance of continued support for education and skill acquisition to thrive in a competitive job market.

Mkwazi said: “This contribution is a testament to commitment to the well-being of future generations and will help address challenges faced by young people in the country.”

McNeill Shire, District Youth Officer for Chikwawa, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to TIRDEM for their supporting the youth people in the district.

“As Chikwawa District Council, we believe the youth deserve essential skills and competencies to achieve their potential.

“The council will continue to support initiatives that foster intellectual growth and provide practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship,” he said.

He said equipping budding architects with skills, knowledge and resources can help them contribute to society.
