The Institute of marketing in Malawi (IMM), and ICT association of Malawi (ICTAM), have signed a three year Memorandum of understanding (MOU), centered around the partnership’s focus on creating initiatives that enhance growth and innovation.
The partnership between the two organizations includes provision for exchange programmes and various training activities aimed at equipping members with viable skills.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding, IMM President George Damson, highlighted the significance of the initiative which among others will help bridge the gap in technological innovation and economic development.
Damson, stressed on the need for marketers and students to register with IMM to benefit from the partnership’s initiative in the next three years.
Said Damson: “By joining forces with our colleagues, we look forward to unlocking new opportunities that will benefit our members and stakeholders. In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, success is not just about adapting but it is about evolving strategically to stay ahead of the curve.
“Lack of skilled development and marketing professionals lead to slower pace of economic transformation and this limits the country’s ability to compete in technology-driven industries and innovation.”
He, however, noted that the development aligns with the institution’s commitment to promoting innovation, developing industry relevant skills and creating a dynamic ecosystem that drives progress in line with the country’s development blueprint Malawi 2063, contributing to the country’s development.
ICTAM vice-president Moses Dossi says the MOU reflects a shared vision aimed at empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge to excel in today’s fast-paced digital and marketing landscape.
‘’By leveraging on the mutual interest in cooperation we aim to help the Malawian market by implementing advanced digital solutions, fueling measurable growth in this dynamic market place, and innovative technological solutions.
“With a growing emphasis on sustainability and technology integration, these programs aim to equip future professionals with the skills and insights needed to drive innovation and responsible growth in ICT and Marketing,’’ Dossi said.
He said the collaboration underscores the organisation’s commitment to prioritise on highly skilled marketing professionals to become more competitive in technological innovation.
