Ntopwa girls FC needs K40 Million for CAF Championship

Ntopwa Girls Football Club says it needs about K40 million in order to participate in the CAF champions league scheduled for Durban in South Africa from 6th to 16th
September 2023.

The Blantyre based Ntopwa Super Queens qualified for the tournament after winning the 2022 FAM Women Championship following a dramatic 5-3 post-match penalty victory over Ascent Academy at Mpira stadium in Blantyre.

Owner and Technical Director of the team Isaac Jomo Osman told ProjectM that the money will, among other things, be used to buy air tickets for the players, allowances, football equipment.

Osman is confident that his team can defy the odds to pull a surprise.

He also said this tournament will have an impact on his players and inspire future generations of players.

‘’Preparations are going on very well and we need your support. So, cast aside doubt and believe that we can make the impossible mission possible by assisting the team in various ways so that we can do well in the rainbow nation,’’ he said.

Osman has since appealed to companies, the government, Malawians of good will and non-governmental institutions to help the team with financial assistance.

“The team needs a lot of support as it prepares to carry the Malawian flag which is a great achievement towards the development of women’s football in the country,” he said.

Ntopwa, popularly known as Ama Ghetto Kids, will be the first Malawian female team to participate in CAF Women’s Champions League having successfully passed the club licensing requirements in June this year.
