Chancy Ng’oma, co-founder of KCHKNA, a technology and renewable energy company, has initiated solutions to address climate change and provision of clean energy in Mzuzu and Malawi as whole.
His company focuses on producing biogas from waste and providing clean energy solutions to communities.
Since its inception, KCHKNA has successfully established biogas systems in several communities in Mzuzu, producing clean cooking energy, bio-fertilizer and organic manure.
“We have significantly contributed to waste management by collecting and processing waste for biogas production, efforts have had a positive environmental impact and we have created job opportunities in waste management, biogas system installation and agriculture,” said Ng’oma.
His passion for empowering communities and leveraging technology to create positive change has driven KCHKNA’s mission.
The company has employed a dedicated team mostly from the communities to ensure that the communities they serve are directly involved in the work they do.
KCHKNA’s innovative approach has not only improved energy access in rural areas but also promoted sustainable farming practices.
The company’s bio-fertilizer and organic manure products have helped farmers enhance agricultural productivity and reduce their reliance on chemical fertilizers, according to Ng’oma.
“We are grateful for Ng’oma’s initiative of introducing bio-fertilizer, as I have been using this fertilizer for quite some time now and the results are massive. I am not part of their team but I keep on encouraging my fellow farmers to buy this fertilizer,” explained Misiasi Banda a farmer in Mzuzu city.
KCHKNA was launched in 2020 and their clients are hotels, homes as well as farmers.
As Ng’oma looks to the future, he wants to expand KCHKNA’s operations to other regions in Malawi and beyond.
“We want to make clean energy and agricultural solutions accessible to more people and advance technologies that improve livelihoods,” he said.
Ng’oma’s dedication to creating a lasting positive impact in Malawi has earned him recognition as a pioneering entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector.
