The COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB)-Malawi chapter says it has so far managed to empower over 450 women entreprenuers with knowledge on how they can succeed in business.
COMFWB National Coordinator, Raymond Kapalamula has made the remarks when he was reviewing progress the federation has registered in the just ended year of 2024.
Kapalamula said among others, training programs organized by the federation have been instrumental in helping women entreprenuers overcome the unique challenges they face in the business world.
“In the just ended year, we had several comprehensive training programs which mainly focused on trade, product improvement and capacity-strengthening activities,” Kapalamula said.
He said through the training programmes, women entreprenuers from Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, Dedza and Karonga benefited a lot.
“By empowering these women, we are not only improving their lives but also contributing to the economic growth of our nation,” said Kapalamula.
COMFWB-Malawi chapter’s efforts have not gone unnoticed.
For instance, Florence Laudon, one of the beneficiaries of the training programmes has hailed COMFWB for giving her what she has described as confidence and skills to take her business to the next level.
“I am an entrepreneur from Mwanza district and I can now market my products both locally and internationally, thanks to COMFWB,” said Laudon.
Meanwhile, COMFWB has promised to continue working tirelessly to provide women entreprenuers with tools and resources they need to succeed.
