Young Graduates Forms Consultancy Firm

A group of university graduates has joined forces to establish a professional firm, MERC Associates, which is specialising in monitoring, evaluation, research and consulting services.

The innovative venture is the brainchild of a team of 7 young professionals determined to make an impact in their respective fields.

MERC Associates managing director Lumbani Khembo has told ProjectM in an interview that the firm was established a desire to maximise the knowledge and skills acquired during their university days.

“We are a young team made up of knowledgeable graduates who are eager to utilise it to make a positive impact,” said Khembo.

He said MERC Associates is focused on providing high-quality, evidence-based solutions that can empower organisations, enhance program effectiveness and support data-driven decision making across various sectors.

“The firm’s services are designed to help organisations navigate complex challenges, identify areas for improvement and develop effective strategies for growth and development,” said Khembo.

He has since called upon the public to support the Mzuzu-based firm, saying this is the only way Malawi can tackle rampant unemployment rate.

“On our part as youths, we are ready to offer potential clients tailored solutions that meet their unique needs,” he added.

The firm is made up of graduates from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) and University of Malawi (UNIMA).

Meanwhile, Rabson Woodwell, a Lilongwe-based founder of a consultancy firm called “RAWO” has commended the graduates, calling their move a “bold step” towards defeating unemployment.

“I wish them all the best as they make a lasting impact in the world of monitoring, evaluation, research and consulting,” said Woodwell.
