World Vision Malawi (WVM) says it wants to involve the youth clubs to raise awareness on the need for consumption of the six groups of food to scale up nutrition in Nsanje.
Nyachipere Project Officer for WVM, Phillip Kadzakumanja said on Thursday during an interface meeting with youth club members in the area of Senior Chief Chimombo in the district.
He said the engagement of the youth clubs is the best strategy to reach out to the rural masses with the information on nutrition.
Speaking to ProjectM, Kadzakumanja said his organisation wants to work with clubs in the discrimination of the information.
“The intervention is under the initiative called ‘Enough Campaign aiming at Ending Child Hunger Now,” he said.
On his part, Senior Chief Chimombo said the coming of WVM in his area many things has changed.
He disclosed that the organisation is doing alot of developments such as provision of safe by drilling boreholes.
A club member Madalo Binzi hailed WVN for coming with this initiative which she said is going to curb malnutrition in the area.
She noted that nutrition is fueled by a number of factors such poverty, climate change, dry spell just to name but afew.
“Over population is the major factor affecting the communities from eating to nutritious foods,” she said.
