Forty-seven students have completed various courses from Kamuzu Vocational Rehabilitation Centre, which is under the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs (MACODA) in Chiradzulu district.
Board Member for MACODA Marthayoshi Katangwe said she is encouraged to see that people with disabilities are showing interest in taking courses at the institution.
Speaking to ProjectM, Katangwe said that more persons with disabilities are registering in different vocational courses being offered.
“This is an encouragement to the government institution and the communities,” she said.
According to the board members of the graduating students, 39 are persons with disabilities which she is good development.
One of the graduating students Hope Limau is a person with albinism graduated with a Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery.
He has appealed to well-wishers to assist centre with materials to the graduating students.
“There should be a consideration of giving a starter packs to the out going students,” said the graduant.
KVRC was formed forty years ago and offers various courses to both people with disabilities and without in carpentry and joinery, tailoring, welding, mechanics and agriculture amongst others.
