SIKHALO FOUNDATION AND KAYLA FOUNDATION BRING RELIEF TO KASUNGU DISTRICT HOSPITAL

In a heartfelt gesture of support, the newly formed Sikhalo Foundation, in partnership with Kayla Foundation, has donated essential supplies worth K2 million to Kasungu District Hospital.

The donation, which included blankets, clothes, basins, and buckets, was targeted at the paediatric, male, and maternity wards to alleviate pressing challenges faced by the facility.

Sikhalo Foundation Executive Director Ted Kaledzera emphasized the organization’s commitment to complementing government efforts in strengthening the healthcare sector.

“We identified critical needs in these wards and felt compelled to act,” Kaledzera said during the handover ceremony.

Nurse and matron representative, Angela Chunga expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that many patients arrive with nothing.

“Some of our patients come from faraway places with no support, and these donations provide a much-needed starting point. Acts of kindness like this brings hope and makes a big difference,” she said.

The donation marks a significant step in addressing resource shortages in Malawi’s health facilities, highlighting the vital role of partnerships in bridging gaps in healthcare delivery.

For the patients and staff of Kasungu District Hospital, the gesture has not only brought immediate relief but also a renewed sense of hope.
