ONESIMUS WINS AFRICA  AWARD

Malawi’s renowned Afro beat Artist Armstrong Kalua popularly known as Onesimus has secured the Best Artist Award at this year’s Africa Entertainment Awards-USA.

Onesimus was nominated alongside Eli Njuchi, international artists such as Pabi Cooper. 

The award has also come barely a month after he received recognition in the category of Best Zikomo Artist of the year and Best Zikomo Song of the year for his hit song controller.

Onesimus has also scooped two other international awards which are Best Male Artist in the Hollywood and African Prestigious Award (HAPA) and the 2024 Music Video Africa Awards (MVAA) for his controller song. 

Speaking in an interview after scooping the award, Onesimus said he is grateful for the award. 

“I am grateful for this award and I don’t take it for granted that I have an award. This award belongs to Malawi and I am thankful for the support”, he said.

The main Award ceremony took place on November 9 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport, 128 Frontage Rd, Newark, NJ 07114, United States.
