Malawian owned fashion designing company, “House of Xandria”, is among hundreds of companies that are participating in the ongoing Youth Conneckt Africa Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.
The event, which begun earlier this week and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, has brought together over 20 thousand participants from across Africa, including Heads of state and major players in the fashion industry.
The event further underlines the important role fashion designers play in uplifting culture.
House of Xandria managing director Xandria has since indicated that she is hugely honored to represent Malawi at the summit.
The Lilongwe based fashion designer has since indicated that she will use the event to market Malawi.
“I am more than ready to showcase cutting edge innovation in fashion,” Xandria said.
She further indicated that she will use the opportunity to identify new business opportunities that her company can exploit.
“This summit will also have a special gathering where participants will gather under what is being dubbed Youth in trade, entreprenuership and access to finance, so I intend to exploit that,” said Xandria.
The fashion designer cum entreprenuer is attending the summit with sponsorship from the UNDP.
Lilongwe based fashion designer Jayne Binali has since underscored the need for Xandria to use the opportunity to open doors for Malawian fashion designers at the global stage.
