In a bid to push for more egalitarian policies and accelerate its poverty alleviation programme ,Innobuild Limited Company has donated a sewing Machine worth Mk245,000 to John Mussa’s mother,Lita Chinthenga which is likely to have a positive impact on the economic development of her family.
Chinthenga’s story was in no time a talk of the nation following the imprisonment of her son John Mussa who was found in possession of Indian hemp known as chamba.
Chief Executive Officer for Innobuild Limited Company, Billy Jonathan Chiotcha, told ProjectM his organization has donated the machine to Chinthenga following revelations that she was struggling to raise her children while her son was in prison saying this assiduously cultivated fear in her life.
“You know a percentage number of people including single mothers like Lita Chinthenga are living below a head count measure of poverty in this country and that is why we universally agreed to buy her a sewing machine as being the minimum requirement for a reasonable standard to sustain themselves amid the country’s bleeding economy”, Chiotcha said.
According to Chiotcha, and in order to identify the appropriate ways to promote the set objectives, his company has sent chinthenga to Kachere tailoring school to equip her with variable skills for a period of 8 months.
‘’As we speak now Chinthenga is now attending a tailoring training course for a period of eight months. As Innobuild Limited Company, we may not be fully capable of supporting her family and therefore, the purpose of this overview was to enable the family find something that is sustainable and become self reliant’’ ,He concluded.
On other fronts, aged 46 from Kachere in Blantyre, Chinthenga felt both humbled and honored for the donation saying it will go along away in alleviating some of the challenges she has been going through for the past years.
‘’Currently I am attending a tailoring course at Kachere tailoring school and come back home late in the afternoon. The problem that I have is that I got 4 children and among the two daughters that I have, one is disabled and my worry is that when I go to school I leave them with nothing to eat’’,Chinthenga said.
Chinthenga therefore, appealed for more support from well wishers, government as well as Non governmental institutions to assist her with materials for her machine and money amounting to k125,000 to restart her business of selling rice for sustainability.
