Innobuild gives free education to John Mussa

Innobuild Limited Private Company, has demonstrated its commitment to empowering individuals and promoting self sufficiency, by providing scholarship to John Mussa who was granted a Presidential pardon on April 10, 2023 following his arrest in 2022 for his involvement In indian hemp dealings.

Mussa who is the second born in a family of 4, from Kachere in Blantyre, gained popularity in 2022, when he was found guilty and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with hard labour (IHL), for allegedly being found in possession of an indian hemp locally known as Chamba.

In an interview with ProjectM, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Innobuild Limited Company, Billy Jonathan Chiotcha, said a few days ago, he invited Mussa to a round table discussion at his offices in Lilongwe and some of the far reaching issues that were tabled included his experience while in prison, valuable lessons, his plans for the future and how he could support him to achieve his goals.

‘’Firstly we had to understand the calamities that John Mussa was found in, which was his involvement in selling chamba and this was due to the challenges he was facing as he was the one supporting his family. After negotiating with Mussa we came to a point that the futuristic intervention was needed, where after being asked to choose either to be offered a job or School, henceforth he finally opted for education and we agreed to send him back to school and our company will be paying for all the bills and any other school related expenses, said Chiotcha.

Apparently he said by the time Mussa was arrested, he was in standard 8 and at prison he continued with his education.

Commenting on his future after completing his secondary school education, he actively said, should Mussa perform and behave well at school, all the support will be readily available for him.

However, Chiotcha says, his Company is there to motivate all those that are meeting a number of challenges in life. On this he has challenged those who are going through difficult times not to give up but to remain focused and make the right decision saying, nothing is impossible in this life despite the fact that life is full of ups and downs.

According to Chiotcha, Mussa is in Form 1, at the Advent Private Secondary School in area 36 in the Capital City, Lilongwe.

He added that by September 2023 Mussa is expected to start Form 2 at the said school.
