SANWECKA TECH PROMOTES HASSLE-FREE EDUCATION

Majority of Malawians are the youth who are less educated and compounded by poverty. Despite being a window of opportunity to achieve socio-economic growth, they face challenges ranging from poverty to academic barriers which which plunge them into further dungeon of poverty and desperation.

It is against this background that one of the country’s thriving entrepreneurs Rasheed Kapito established Sanwecka Tech Companions to provide hassle-free technical education to poor Malawians ion order to eradicate poverty.

Speaking in Lilongwe when his company received a financial donation of K10 million from Old Mutual to support the training of 33 youths from Mtsiriza and Ntandire, Kapito said Malawians need hassle-free education to improve their economic lives.

He said: “At the rate which poverty is ravaging our nation, there is no need to make education extremely hard to be accessed by Malawians, particularly the youth. This is the reason Sanwecka Tech Companions promote hassle-free education to young people in order to free them from the bondage off poverty which is both caused by our education system and poverty.

“Among others, we offer technical and vocational training in phone repairing, electric gadgets repairing, graphic designing and videographer without requiring strict academic entry qualifications like MSCE.

“We are aware that majority of Malawian youths did not complete or pass their secondary education due to various reasons beyond their control. So, we can not deny them a chance to become entrepreneurs,” said Kapito.

He said his company is committed to contributing to the socio-economic development of this country by honing the skills of the youth who are less-privileged in many aspects of life.

Meanwhile, Sanwecka Tech Companions has released a five-week training programme running from October 14 to November 15 in Blantyre, Mzuzu and Lilongwe.

Kapito said the training program seeks to empower disadvantaged youths in the country; hence, it requires no academic qualifications or grade at MSCE.

“The five-week training programme requires no any academic paper or grade as entry qualifications because the idea is to empower those disadvantaged youths to access education in order to improve their lives. Often times, our systems have restrictive requirements which contribute to poverty and idleness,” said Kapito.

He said Sanwecka Tech Companions has helped to train and create jobs of over 50,000 youths through its hassle-free technical education.

Old Mutual ‘s Marketing and Corporate Affairs executive Patience Chatsika said her company partnered Sanwecka Tech Companions to empower less-privileged youths to become productive in Mtsiriza and Ntandire.

Commenting on Sanwecka Tech Companions’ approach to education, one of its beneficiaries Gift Leonard said it has supported several youths from hopelessness and poverty.

He said: “If you go to every market today, you are likely to find phone repairers, Dish Installers, videographers and others who are earning a descent living because of Sanwecka Tech Companions which is creating solutions to most problems facing our country.

“Malawi needs more entrepreneurs like the founder of Sanwecka Tech Companions in order to create solutions that can lift many people from poverty.”
