Blessings Chiwosi an author has planned to use his earnings to support needy students in the country.
In 2021, Chiwosi wrote a book titled “Malawian Wealth Creation”, a book that analyses approaches Malawi and Africa has been using to eliminate poverty.
“I want the ideas to present the suggestions to the youth and brilliant legends of our land. In the book, I have highlighted practical and inclusive methods that mother Malawi can adopt to build in the nation in the next 20 years,” he said.
The book is an inspiration from learning from the works of Shepherd Bushiri, Thomson Mpinganjira, Diplomats and European countries.
“I was curious to understand what we missed with Vision 2020. So, I did a research through which 50 youths participated in an easy competition to voice out on how the nation can rise,” he said.
Chiwosi has invested K7.5 million in the book project and has sold 250 copies so far.
He said: “I intend to print a minimum million copies in order to reach a lot of people within and outside Malawi.
The message about the book is available on different social media platforms and it is up for grabs.”
Chiwosi has demonstrated the power that every youth has as the money for the book has been sourced from his ICT and Consultancy business that he is into.
He said, through the money from the proceeds of the book he intends to reach to 5,000 needy students.
He said: “I intend to use half of the proceeds to provide financial support to needy students. The support will go to both public and private colleges and universities including those on ODeL mode through a project called Education for All.”
Education for all has an online sponsorship platform called Sponsor Beneficiary Web Zone which has a list potential company, business people and organisations that will support beneficiaries.
Once the project is fully operational, Chiwosi hopes to reduce high unemployment levels among graduates.
“We will promote skill acquisition among students and graduates. We are also planning to work with Ministry of Education, Loans Board and other stakeholders,” he said.
