NORTHERN REGION FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS DRILLED IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Fifty female entrepreneurs from the Northern Region of Malawi on Wednesday underwent a one-day training focusing on how they can manage their businesses.

The training is among a series of business training being organized by the COMESA Federation For National Association of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi chapter.

The institution’s national programmes coordinator, Raymond Kupalamula said the training was aimed at equipping female entrepreneurs with necessary knowledge on entrepreneurship and how the businesses can transform their lives.

“We are mainly focusing on marketing, bookkeeping, business planning and how female entrepreneurs can identify potential opportunities for businesses,” he said.

Kupalamula added that among others, participants have been imparted with knowledge they need to uplift their businesses.

“At the end of the day, it is our wish to see female entrepreneurs from this region growing,” he said.

COMFWB says the training is also part of the federation’s ongoing advocacy project initiative being funded by the Graca Machel Trust.

Under the project, female entrepreneurs are being imparted with knowledge on how they can analyze business opportunities, risks, financial management and cash flow management, just to mention a few.

A similar training was conducted in Dedza district in early August where female entrepreneurs were also trained.

One of the participants, Hellen Mwalwanda described the training as vital in advancing her business.
