ENTREPRENEUR VENTURES INTO MAKING MANGO JUICE

Jean Kaduya Williams from Phalombe District has ventured into making mango juice after receiving manufacturing training.

The 45-year-old was trained by Malawi’s renowned entrepreneur, Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira entrepreneur.

Kaduya thanked Kachamba for his commitment and dedication which has helped her venture into juice making.

She told ProjectM that it requires dedication, resilience and passion for one to succeed.

Said Kaduya: “Being an entrepreneur is like starting an exciting adventure and enjoying the process of building something new. Malawi as a country has been blessed with so many fruits but our main challenge is that we just let them go rotten.

“Something came up in mind that if we can turn them into juice like what other countries are doing, it would make a positive impact on our communities and beyond. However, seeing what Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira was teaching us, we are being motivated to champion value addition.”

With her diverse talent and infectious energy, Kaduya has collectively established her company called YOLIYOLI BEVERAGES, and is currently producing about 1000 bottles of juice per week

“As we go along, we plan to have a big company and start exporting our products to different countries and help our nation increase its foreign reserves. We are currently distributing our products in various shops, companies and including Hotels.”

The rising of bottle packaging prices from the factory, stickers and shortage of fruits due to erratic rainfall are some of the challenges that are increasingly hindering progress to meet the growing demand.

Kaduya has encouraged fellow Malawians particularly women to take up such ventures.

They need to develop a positive step to achieve personal milestones because none of us were born without talent.

Commenting on his facebook page, Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira described the Malawian Mango Juice produced by Jean Williams as a perfect blend of fruit juice with clean apple flavour.

He said: “We are mostly happy to see one of the persons whom we trained is now manufacturing mango juice and we are glad to say that our training has now started bearing fruits.

“It is high time we stop importing such products from other countries and promote our own trained men and women who can produce the same.”
