HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER THRIVES IN LIVESTOCK FARMING

Balaka-based entreprenuer, Tinenenji Katsara is a role model for her fellow women after successfully setting up a livestock farm.

Katsara, a teacher by profession has been running her farm called “TK Livestock Champions” for 15 years.

The entreprenuer developed passion for animal husbandry after growing up in a family setup that thrived in farming.

“Livestock production is in my blood as I was born and raised in a family that earned a living through farming,”said Katsara.

She said the decision to set up the farm has also helped her to boost hear financial status.

“Taking into account how expensive the cost of living is in these modern times, I do not regret venturing into this hustle,” said Katsara.

Her farm stock animals such as boer goats, cattle and numerous breeds of local animals.

Katsara has since announced the opening of a new office in Balaka Township which will enable customers to access services offered by TK Livestock Champions with ease.

TK Livestock Champions also offer delivery services to customers who are far from Balaka Township.

Ministry of Trade and Industry spokesperson Patrick Botha has since commended Katsara for establishing the business, saying it is the wish of government to see small scale business operators thrive.

Botha added that the ministry will soon start empower such operators.
