GOVT IMPRESSED WITH MSCE EXAMINATIONS ADMINISTRATION

Education Minister Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima has said she is impressed with the administration of the ongoing Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations in the country.

Kambauwa Wirima made the remarks when she visited Nyamadzere Community Day Secondary School in Nsanje.

Speaking to ProjectM she said the number of students writing the MSCE in Nsanje has increased by almost 100 percent which is a clear indication that students are serious to complete secondary studies.

“Last year the district had over 1,000 candidates while this year over 2,000 students are taking the examinations in the district,” she said.

According to the minister, the government is committed to improving the quality of education by providing infrastructures such as the construction of classroom blocks.

The minister also said the government is constructing 10,900 classroom blocks across the country to ease congestions in the primary schools.

Headteacher for Nyamadzere, Leah Zambasa Nyowadi said she was excited that the minister came to the institution.

“The minister found nothing wrong in connection to the administration of the examinations,” she said.

Nyamadzere Community Day Secondary School has 242 candidates sitting for the MSCE examinations.

The minister also visited Kadabwako and Magoti Community Day Secondary Schools.
