KCT BAILS AN ELDERLY WOMAN IN NSANJE

Khumbolathu Charitable Trust (KCT) on Friday bailed out an elderly woman with assorted food items who was helpless in the area of Traditional Authority Mbenje in Nsanje.

Director for KCT, Lyton Sekabe said the trust was informed that an elderly grandparent has nothing to support herself.

He said the members of the trust met and decided to come up with the assistance.

Speaking to ProjectM, Sekabe said with the little the members contributed every Saturdays they agreed to share with the elderly woman.

“We gave out a container of flour, soya pieces, salt, vegetables and soap valued K7,500 only,” said the director.

In her remarks, Estere Khisimisi thanked the members for coming to her rescue as she had no food.

She disclosed that she is alone and lacks many basic needs for her day living.

“I had nothing to do but with what you have brought it will help me a lot,” Khisimisi said.

VillageHead Chambachauka concurred with the grandmother, saying she is alone and she requires a lot of things.

He has since appealed to organisations and individuals to support to the elderly woman.

“Food is the main challenge for our grandmother,” said the traditional leader.
