25-YEAR-OLD MAN INVESTS K100M IN ELECTRONICS STORE

A 25-year-old entrepreneur Romulus Chikafutwa from Sosola Village, Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba has invested K100 million in an Apple Electronics Store named Apple Guy Malawi.

The multi-million-kwacha project was launched recently at Chipiku Mall of Africa, Ginnery Corner in Blantyre.

Romulus, a computer programmer, was driven by his determination to achieve his dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

He said: “During my college days, I bought my first iPhone 6. My schoolmates were impressed which motivated me to make a huge investment in entrepreneurship.”

This investment showcases the potential and growth trajectory of Malawi, shaping the future of economic strength, innovation, opportunity, and creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs that will empower communities and drive sustainable development.

Romulus hinted that they have received a great response from individuals and plan to expand their business opportunities to other places like Lilongwe and beyond.

The Blantyre-based businessman, who graduated from NACIT in 2020 said young people in the country have potential to improve their lives and offer a special and accessible entrepreneurship environment.

“We are urging youths to embrace self-employment and economic ventures. It’s impossible for the government to employ everyone. This calls for a shift in attitude and mind-set from white-collar jobs to an entrepreneurial approach,” he concluded.

At Apple Guy Malawi, customers can buy items such as iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Pro M2, AirPods Pro Max, and many more.
